CenterPointe Announces Open Access for Outpatient Counseling

Dear Stakeholder:

We appreciate how frustrating it can be for consumers to have to wait for needed services. In an effort to alleviate this frustration, CenterPointe’s Outpatient Counseling Program will no longer keep a waiting list for services.

On December 3, 2012 CenterPointe made the transition to same day open access admissions.

In place of a single day of screenings, we now operate open intake admissions/assessments four days a week (Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 11 am).

When a prospective client comes in they will complete intake paperwork and a biopsychosocial assessment that same day. This will function as their admission into CenterPointe’s Outpatient Counseling Program.

Due to staff availability, there will a limited number of admissions on any one day (two to three on average). If more participants come than we can accommodate we will simply ask those persons to return for admission another day convenient to them.

This process will allow us to help more people each week than our old screening model and admit more people each month. This means increased and faster access to services for consumers.

Please refer individuals in need of CenterPointe’s Outpatient Counseling Services to come in at their convenience on any Monday through Thursday, 9 am to 11 am. We will admit people (two to three per day) on a first come first serve basis (there will be no scheduled appointments).

If you work in higher levels of care and have worked with us to coordinate referrals to Outpatient for aftercare in the past, please continue with your current referral practices to Outpatient services.

We will hold a slot available for those individuals transitioning to a lower level of care during one of our open access times. Consider this our “Call Ahead Seating” approach to continue to help accommodate transitions from higher levels of care to Outpatient effectively and efficiently.

Please note that our Outpatient Programs will be closed on Monday, January 21, 2013.

If you have questions about open access services, please feel free to contact Adam Proctor, Outpatient Director or Cathryn Alpaugh, Intake Coordinator at 402-475-5161. We are confident this new system will facilitate a more timely provision of service to our consumers.

Sincerely:

The CenterPointe Outpatient Team
